Scott Fearon has spent thirty years in the financial services industry. Since 1990, he has managed the hedge fund Crown Capital Management. The fund has significantly outperformed the S&P 500 by investing in fast-growing companies while shorting the stocks of “dead companies walking,” businesses on their way to bankruptcy. His debut book, Dead Companies Walking: How a Hedge Fund Manager Finds Opportunity in Unexpected Places, was published in January of 2015 and was named a Book of the Month by Amazon and a Must-Read by TheStreet.com.
In addition to writing and running his hedge fund, Scott actively supports a number of charities. He co-founded Oak Hill School for disabled children in San Anselmo, California. Any proceeds he earns from the sale of Dead Companies Walking will go to the school.
